A beautiful day in SF

It’s absolutely gorgeous here in San Francisco today. I walked down to the farmer’s market at the Ferry Building around 1pm, got there just in time for them to be tearing everything down. Oh well, next weekend I’ll leave a little earlier. Great people watching though, and I got to have a coffee and chat with my favorite clarinet player, who I haven’t seen for four years – I used to see him in the BART station everyday on the way to work at Game Developer Magazine.
Getting outside and walking is always a great way for me to re-center myself when I’m feeling pissed off or blue or frustrated. Something about being around people, the constant distractions, moving the limbs and getting the blood pumping. I generally find myself feeling great afterward and full of ideas for things to do and try. Not that I was feeling lousy today, not at all; I just feel great now after my walk/muni/walk. I stopped in and saw my friend Kissy briefly, picked up my digicam that I had lent to her sister, so hopefully when I go for another walk around the city tomorrow I can take some pictures for the blog.
If you’ll allow me a bit of self-congratulatory space here – which is not something I do very well frankly – I want to post up an excel graph I’ve been working on for a few months. Just before E3 this year I decided it was time to re-align my body and my self with my value system. I’ve been significantly off track since moving to San Francisco, and it’s just damned time. Those of you who know me well can certainly get what I’m talking about, it’s one of those holographic “all areas of my life are just OFF” feelings.
So one of those areas has been the body – seeing the physical therapist to get my hip sorted out, doing stretching and strengthening, eating better, and so on. And thus, the graph:

Just before E3, I weighed 189, which seemed plain crazy. My goal is 165, so I’m almost there. And it hasn’t even been painful. ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m being slower about getting my brain and life sorted out, but body and brain and life all flow together, so progress in one area encourages and augments all others. So… so far so good!
