Dearth of a Nation

Good article on Alternet on the declining prominence of the US in technology sectors: Dearth of a Nation.
I’ve been whinging on about this for awhile. Examples such as our lousy cell phone system, lack of innovation in hybrid vehicles, and Bush’s religious dismissal of stem cell research come quickly to mind. Granted, in general I feel that the rest of the world catching up with us and being on an even footing is a good thing, and I think largely inevitable. That said, it will definitely shake some things up with our economy.
