You ever get that feeling that you know you’re getting sick?
Yeah, that’s the feeling I had yesterday after sitting across from a guy with a cold. In the afternoon I was feeling cranky, and a little hotter than usual, and I thought – hey, something is up. So, start up the vitamin C, echinacea drops, and zinc lozenges.
Last time the cold came around at work I managed to avoid it through judicious application of same. This time it seems to have a little more velocity, so I’m feeling a bit more down. But I’m going to bed early tonight, will try and take care of myself tomorrow, and see how things go. Weekend coming up, so worst case I do a lot of sleeping this weekend. 🙂
I’ve developed this illness ritual over the past few years– when I begin to feel out of sorts I immediately crank up the immunity boosters, and usually what results is a very mild cold which lasts a bit longer than a normal cold would. But I have to wonder if there are other things I could do. I keep thinking about yoga, and wondering what poses might be useful. Or whether some essences or teas might encourage the cold to go away. Maybe I’ll experiment a bit. Learning that green tea has a substantial amount of vitamin C in it made me quite happy, I must admit. 🙂
Descending into illness today seems apropos. Bush’s second inaugural and all. I can hardly think of anything more depressing – sorry, my conservative friends. 🙂 But going through an illness and rebirth at this time just seems quite the proper thing to do. So, instead of joining the evening’s protests here at City Hall (2000-5000 people, depending on which reports you listen to), I’ll just relax here and let my body take the course it feels is proper.
On the other side, I’m sure I’ll feel better. Now, what to do about the country?

How about forgetting politics this weekend and getting some rest? We have GGGOOOODDDDD sushi (and tea!) lined up for next week. Get better!
Forgetting about politics might be difficult. Maybe I’ll just play videogames and distract myself instead. 🙂
