I bid on a loft yesterday, had it countered in the evening, countered their counter-offer late last night, and heard this morning that they accepted my bid. Yayyyyy!
So I will be the proud owner of a very stylish and nice loft in San Francisco. Once financing and escrow and all that are finished up. Looks like I’ll move in there the end of August.
It also happens to be about four long blocks away from where GDC 2005 will be held, which will make my life much easier. Heck, it might even be a good place to have some after-parties. ๐Ÿ˜‰
It sure feels good to have this part of “looking for a loft” over and done with. It actually happened pretty darn quickly once I got under way. The realtor emphasized that usually people don’t get the first place they bid on, so I’m very happy about that.
Now there are a lot of details to work out. But I look forward to that. ๐Ÿ™‚

wow, that’s awesome! congratulations! i just found a beautiful loft in austin that i’m going to rent (not buy, sadly) with gorgeous oak hardwood floors and a balcony overlooking a creek and all that, and mine was a serendipitous quick thing, too (i’d expected weeks of tedious apartment searching) so i know how psyched you must be to close that so quickly!
i’ll definitely hafta check it out during gdc ’05!

Thanks! It’s *almost* close enough to where GDC 2005 will be to make it a good after-party location. Allllmost. It’s about 4 blocks, but they’re long San Francisco blocks.
