Ancient Compute Device

New York Times has a short article up about this ancient compute device, dated at 100-150 B.C. This ancient Roman device was apparently used to predict the track of the moon around the earth. It’s very impressive for that time period! I love seeing how new technologies are allowing us to peer further and further back into the human record – another example of this is using sophisticated X-ray equipment to detect minute impressions of writing left in paper where the ink has long since disappeared. I love cool tech like this. 🙂
