35W highway collapse photos, up close

There has been a ton of amazing coverage of the collapse of the highway bridge in Minneapolis, but you may have missed these. Noah Kunin lives closer to the bridge than anyone (no, seriously), and has written on his blog about the experience. Don’t miss his incredible pictures, on flickr.
ABCNews also had some photos on the scene, from a survivor who landed on the middle section of the bridge.
If you live in the San Francisco Bay area, you may be having flashbacks to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and how it affected several local bridges. What do you think about the new east Bay Bridge span? There’s an interactive site here that lets you “build your own bridge” and try to knock it over with a simulated earthquake. Interesting, and educational.

I’m really enjoying clicking around on Peter Stanick’s website. I found it via Souris’ blog, Hustler of Culture. Peter’s work is showing at Museum Works Galleries in New York City, and the opening reception is… hey, in five minutes. Lucky for you it goes until 9pm eastern time. Go check it out!
But first, check out the website. Be sure to do lots of clicking on random things!
EDIT: May not be safe for work!
