Windows Live Local

Some cool new technology available today, especially for people who live in San Francisco, New York, Washington, and Las Vegas. Windows Live Local from Microsoft goes one step beyond Google Maps and Google Earth to give you low-level bird’s-eye views of each area, such as the picture of San Francisco’s City Hall, pictured above.
You can spin around them as well – getting views from the east, north, west, or south. Very cool stuff! This war between Google and Microsoft is definitely resulting in some great tech. 🙂
There are a few limitations (such as limited scrolling ability in bird’s eye view) and it’s definitely still in beta, but this shows great promise!
There’s a small article about the service on San Francisco’s SFGate.com.
