Post-E3 2005 Recovery

I don’t think I’m going to work today. I mean, I’m at work, and I’ll try to work, but really I’ll probably spend most of the day surfing and catching up on industry news. There was so much I didn’t see at E3, and so far I have 11 Firefox windows open with multiple tabs in each. Yowsa.
My post on the Xbox360 press conference last week produced an entertaining spike in my site traffic, as it was linked to from I appreciated that and yet at the same time I’m cautious about making news here since I don’t want to be seen as “the voice of Sony” on this blog. That’s why we have a PR department. This blog is just my own independent voice.
Some folks don’t seem to have an issue about crossing that line, such as Major Nelson. He posted an unbelievable amount of FUD comparing Xbox360 to PS3. Whatever, dude.
I notice that G4’s Tina Wood got a bit beaten up about crossing the line recently as well. She shilled for Nintendo at the press conference, possibly damaging her journalism credentials. It’s difficult keeping a balance in the PR space, I’m discovering.
Oh yeah, I forgot, I’m not the only person who noticed the goofy Xbox360 press conference crowd.
So far today I notice that Kotaku has a lot of good coverage. I’m hoping that GameSpot or GameSpy has a lot of videos up, so I can take a look at the hot games of the show.
Have you seen the PS3 Grill? I love it! Did I mention that Sony sent out a George Foreman Grill as part of its Xmas present this past year?
Okay, lastly, for now, I’d like to call your attention to this photograph:
Please notice the stand-up to the right of the controller which says “Controller Conceptual Design”. (i.e., “it’s not in stone yet, what do you think?” πŸ˜‰ )
